Help Taos Families Weather the Federal Shutdown: Donate Grocery Gift Cards

In the wake of the federal government shutdown, many Taos County families may lose access to their SNAP benefits during the month of November. The Nurturing Centers of Taos Behavioral Health are calling on our community to help fill the gap by donating grocery gift cards to Smith’s and Albertsons.

These cards will allow families to purchase fresh essentials like milk, eggs, and produce to supplement what is available through our local food banks. All cards will be distributed directly to local families with children enrolled in Taos County schools.

Gift card drop-off locations:

• Nurturing Center at Enos Garcia Elementary – 305 Don Fernando St., Taos

• Nurturing Center at Ranchos Elementary – 200 Sanders Ln., Ranchos de Taos

• Taos Behavioral Health Office – 105 Bertha St., Taos

Your generosity will directly support Taos families, impacted by the loss of federal assistance, can continue to provide healthy meals for their children.
